Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026 · Applies to Slimer Stats 1.6 and later
Slimer Stats ("we," "our," or "us") is a fishing catch tracker built by Ratpack Industries LLC to help anglers log catches, see what conditions work for them, and compete with friends. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it.
The short version: we collect what you need to log and analyze your catches, we don't sell it, we don't run ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address — used to create and sign in to your account, and for password recovery.
- Username, and optionally a display name, bio, home state and profile photo.
- If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identity token and, at your choice, your email address and name from that provider. We never see your Apple or Google password.
Catch and trip data (content you create)
- Catches: species, weight, length, date and time, water body, notes, lure/bait, technique, and any photos you attach.
- Trips: start/end times, location, and crew members you add.
- Tackle box: lures you record.
- Social activity: friends you add, likes, comments, and challenge chat messages.
- Feedback you send from the app, including optional screenshots, plus the app version, platform and the screen you sent it from so we can reproduce problems.
Location
- With your permission, the app reads your precise GPS location while you are using it to tag where a catch was made, name the water body, look up the conditions at that spot, and detect your home state for fishing records.
- Location is only read when you do something that needs it — logging a catch, picking a spot, opening the forecast. We do not track your location in the background.
- If you deny location access the app still works; catches simply won't carry a location or conditions.
- If you set up the iPhone Action Button / Siri "Log Catch" shortcut, pressing it records the time and your current location so you can finish the catch later.
Conditions data derived from location
For each catch with a location, the app fetches the weather (sky, temperature, wind, barometric pressure), moon phase, sunrise/sunset and solunar periods for that place and time, and stores them with your catch. This powers the "What works" and "Forecast" features. See Third-party services below.
Photos and camera
With your permission, the app uses the camera and photo library so you can attach photos to catches, set a profile photo, and add screenshots to feedback. We only access the photos you choose.
Device and diagnostic data
- Push notification token (if you allow notifications) so we can send trip reminders, friend catch alerts and challenge updates.
- Crash and performance reports via Sentry: when the app crashes or misbehaves, we receive a report with the error, the device model and OS version, the app version, and your account ID so we can find and fix the problem. A sample (about 20%) of sessions also sends performance timing. These reports do not include your photos or catch details.
What we do not collect
No advertising identifiers, no contacts from your address book, no health data, no payment information, no browsing history, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
2. How we use it
- To provide the app: logging catches and showing your stats, conditions, patterns and forecasts.
- To power the friends feed, leaderboards and challenges among the people you connect with.
- To send notifications you've opted into.
- To fix bugs and keep the app stable (crash reports, feedback).
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. Third-party services
We use a small number of providers to run the app. Each receives only what it needs.
| Service | What it receives | Why |
| Supabase | Your account, catches, photos, social activity, feedback and push token | Our database, authentication and file storage. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. |
| Sentry | Crash and performance reports with device/OS/app version and your account ID | Crash reporting so we can fix problems. |
| Open-Meteo | Latitude/longitude and date of a catch or forecast location — no account identifier | Weather, pressure, sun and moon data for conditions and forecasts. |
| OpenStreetMap (Overpass API) | Latitude/longitude — no account identifier | Naming the lake or river you're on. |
| Expo and Apple Push Notification service | Your push token and notification content | Delivering notifications. |
| Apple / Google sign-in | Handled by Apple or Google under their own policies | Optional sign-in without a password. |
4. Who can see your data
- Catches are shared with your friends by default. A shared catch shows your friends the species, size, photo, notes, when and where it was caught. You can make any catch private, and you can change the default for new catches in Settings. Private catches are visible only to you.
- Your username, display name, profile photo and shared catches are visible to other signed-in users so friends can find and add you.
- Challenge chat is visible to the people in that challenge.
- Feedback and its screenshots are visible only to you and to the app's administrators.
- We don't share personal data with anyone else except the service providers above, or if required by law.
5. Data on your device
To work offline, the app keeps a local copy of recent catches, any catches waiting to sync, drafts, and your preferences in the app's private storage on your phone. It is removed when you delete the app.
6. Your choices and rights
- Permissions: location, camera, photos and notifications are all optional and can be changed any time in iOS Settings.
- Edit or delete a catch: any time, from the catch itself.
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete Account removes your account, catches, photos, trips, tackle, social activity, feedback (including screenshots) and push tokens from our systems. This is immediate and cannot be undone. Crash reports already sent to Sentry expire on their own within 90 days.
- Export a copy of your data: email us and we'll send it.
- If you live in the EU/UK, California or another region with privacy laws, you also have the right to access, correct, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your local authority. Email us and we'll help.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account it is removed immediately.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Photos are stored in private storage that only you — and, for feedback screenshots, administrators — can access. Database access is restricted per user with row-level security.
9. Children's privacy
Slimer Stats is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
